OpenADR Alliance Hosts International OpenADR Symposium: “The Protocol for Distributed Energy Resources and the Future Grid”

Multi-day event will explore how global organizations standardize DR and DER communications, automate DR/DER processes, simplify customer energy management and reduce stranded assets

San Ramon, California, April 02, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The OpenADR Alliance today announced it will host an International OpenADR Symposium: The Protocol for Distributed Energy Resources and the Future Grid, June 11-13, 2019. The event will be held at PG&E’s Pacific Energy Center in San Francisco, CA.

The event is co-hosted by Southern California Edison and is open to OpenADR members and non-members. Attendees will explore and engage in why standardized communications are critical to effectively scaling the future grid. Various workshops will focus on the application of open, highly secure, two-way information exchange for dynamic pricing and reliability signals between utility, aggregator and DERs.

The Symposium is aimed at OpenADR Alliance members and prospective members; DR/DER program developers and managers; policy makers and regulators; utility professionals; researchers; control suppliers and industry media.

The program offers four workshops, a member meeting and reception, networking and small group tours to Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory's FLEXLAB in Berkeley, CA,an area facility with OpenADR applications.
