2nd Annual Joy at Work Week to be Celebrated April 8-15 Sponsored by the Northeast Christians at Work

Nonprofit Workplace Ministry Continues "Crusade Against Crabbiness at Work"

VERNON, Conn., March 14, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- The second annual Joy at Work Week (r) will be held April 8-15, 2001. The event is sponsored by Northeast Christians at Work, an all-volunteer group of Christian laypeople who are seeking to reduce workplace stress, crabbiness, and violence by encouraging Godly attitudes and behavior at work.

According to Northeast Christians at Work founder and president Drew Crandall, Joy at Work Week is timed to coincide with the week between Palm Sunday and Easter. "During this special week," said Crandall, "millions of Protestant and Catholic Americans will celebrate Christ's sacrifice and resurrection. We are issuing a global challenge for Christians to export the joy of their salvation to their workplaces. If we really believe what we say we believe, then we should be the happiest employers and employees on earth."

Joy at Work Week began last year as a nationwide event. However, Crandall expanded the scope of the celebration this year in response to hundreds of requests for materials from Christians in workplaces in Canada, Mexico, Europe, Africa, Australia, and Malaysia. This year, Northeast Christians at Work is offering free Joy at Work Week posters, stickers, and church bulletin inserts.
