SAN DIEGO, March 27, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Women First HealthCare, Inc. (Nasdaq:WFHC) announces with great sadness the passing of Board of Directors Member Anthony P. Maris on Monday, March 26, 2001. Mr. Maris was 67.
Mr. Maris joined Women First in September 1997 and served in a variety of leadership roles. He had been a Director of Women First since April 2000. Prior to joining Women First, Mr. Maris was CFO and Board Member at Roberts Pharmaceutical and at Hoffman-LaRoche.

"He represented all that is good in his personal life, his values and his business ethics, and he was dauntless in his commitment to Women First.
