Telenor to provide satellite communication for NATO's peace keeping operations

Satellite Networks, a division of Telenor Broadband Services AS, will deliver the contract. Telenor is already the provider of satellite communication for the Partnership for Peace countries (Parcin), and for the Norwegian delegation of KFOR in Pristina (Kosovo) and in Skopje (Macedonia). "The contract with NATO confirms that we are competitive in this challenging market, and is of great strategic importance in our approach towards other large international players," said Oddbjørn Flem, Sales Director in Satellite Networks.

"Telenor has many years experience with satellite network activities in several European countries. The Satellite Networks division has a clear international orientation, and its main focus is to serve large corporate, governmental and intergovernmental organisations with tailored communication systems. Telenor's office in Brussels has contributed with vital expertise. Resources and expert personnel from Telenor subsidiaries located in several European countries will be combined in order to best meet with the requirements within the contract," said Flem.
