Northrop Grumman Oxygen Generating System Successfully Flight Tested on Belgian Air Force C-130 Aircraft

PARIS AIR SHOW, Le BOURGET, France, June 20, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Litton Life Support, a Northrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC) company, and Marshall Aerospace of Cambridge, England, today announced the successful flight test of an On-Board Oxygen Generating System (OBOGS) on a Belgian Air Force C-130 aircraft. The Northrop Grumman OBOGS was integrated onboard the C-130 to replace the existing liquid oxygen system.

This system increases safety and survivability of the C-130 aircraft while providing aircrews with necessary breathing oxygen during diverse missions. In addition to enhancing aircraft safety, the OBOGS significantly reduces the oxygen system's total life-cycle cost.

The system also will be installed on the Royal Netherlands Air Force C-130 fleet later this year by Marshall Aerospace.
