Coram Announces New Accreditation Relationship

DENVER, Sept. 5, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Coram Healthcare Corporation (OTCBB:CRHEQ) today announced that it has entered into a new accreditation relationship with the Accreditation Commission for Health Care, Inc. (ACHC) effective August 17, 2001. ACHC will conduct the Coram Healthcare corporate survey in December 2001 and surveys of Coram locations will begin January 2002. Coram will maintain its accreditation with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) through December 31, 2001.

"ACHC specializes in accreditation of health care services provided in homes and other alternate sites," said Kate Douglass, Senior Vice President, Clinical Operations, at Coram Healthcare. "We believe this specialization will result in clear communications, pertinent quality standards and efficient review processes that will benefit our organization and the patients we serve."

ACHC will provide accreditation services for all of Coram's 72 branch locations throughout the country.

ACHC was established in 1986 specifically to conduct accreditation services for home-care providers. Based in Raleigh, NC, ACHC is a private, non-profit organization whose mission is to promote quality healthcare through standards, peer review, credentialing and education.

Prior to the ACHC relationship, Coram Healthcare maintained an accreditation relationship with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations for six years.

Denver-based Coram Healthcare, through its subsidiaries, including all branch offices, is a national leader in providing quality home infusion therapies and support for clinical trials, medical product development and medical informatics.
