DDSI Announces Completion of Windows Fingerprint Matching Software Solution

FAIRLESS HILLS, Pa., Sept. 20, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Digital Descriptor Systems, Inc. (DDSI) (OTCBB:DDSI) a leading designer and marketer of digitized imaging systems for the criminal justice and security markets, today announced the availability of its Fingerprint Matching System, the only fully scalable fingerprint identification system in the world designed to take full advantage of the Windows(r) NT/2000 environment.

"FMS can handle as few as 50 fingerprints to many millions in its database," announced Cohn. "What this means is that FMS can operate on systems with as many processors (CPUs) as needed to achieve the desired speed and performance of fingerprint searches.

"DDSI can supply capturing, storing, retrieval and matching of fingerprints across a broad range of applications from jail visitor entry and release, logical computer access, voter and club registration, verification for financial transactions, border control and rapid transit systems and many other uses. FMS has the abilities to support county, state and countrywide identification solutions such as voter registration," he added.

Cohn said, "I am very proud of our developments in this area of biometric identification. FMS will contribute to DDSI's march toward profitability. FMS was envisioned years ago in anticipation of the Microsoft .NET strategy. As such, FMS is the most scalable identification product available today, capable of handling a single client/server to the needs of an entire network without degradation in performance."

"The company will be making available to developers and integrators our Visual Basic Client SDK within a few weeks," Cohn concluded.
