Intentia: Grant Prideco Signs Movex Deal

Fast-Growing Leader in Oil and Gas Drilling Technologies Seeks Greater Visibility and Integration of Information Across Global Manufacturing, Sales and Service Operations

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Oct. 2, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Intentia International AB (publ) (XSSE:INTB) is pleased to announce that Grant Prideco, Inc. (NYSE:GRP) has signed a contract to license and implement Intentia's Movex e-collaboration solution in its Houston, Texas headquarters and multiple facilities around the globe. Implementation of the full suite of Movex applications will begin in October. The enterprise system will serve 1,500 users. License value for the deal totals USD 1.8 million.

According to Grant Prideco Director of Information Technology, Scott Turner, the company is seeking to integrate its complex global operations, which include manufacturing in eight nations as well as sales, service and repair in twenty countries. "Our objective is to improve business processes and increase supply chain visibility across our worldwide operations in order to better serve our customers. Of the software options we considered, Movex offered the best fit with our business model because of its strong manufacturing core and collaborative supply chain planning and scheduling capabilities. In addition, Intentia gave us a strong commitment that they would provide total support, from planning and implementation, through follow-up and maintenance. This commitment was a key decision factor."

Mr. Turner adds: "With the implementation of Movex, we are looking to achieve specific goals that will contribute to our overall productivity and bottom-line profitability. For example, integrating our supply chain over multiple sites will enable us to improve inventory tracking and control, reduce work-in-process, and implement advanced planning, scheduling and production processes." Among the collaborative supply chain applications to be implemented by Grant Prideco are Movex Supply Chain Planner, Advanced Planning and Production, and Multi-Site Planner.

Commenting on the upcoming engagement, Mike Nutter, President and CEO of Intentia Americas, notes, "We are delighted to welcome Grant Prideco into the Intentia community and we are confident that Movex will provide the efficiencies and visibility required to integrate its far-flung operations. This has been the experience of thousands of our customers worldwide. The Intentia team looks forward to working closely with Grant Prideco to ensure the project's success."
