Northrop Grumman Team Wins U.S. Navy Contract for Electronic Warfare, Electronic Intelligence Support


HERNDON, Va., Nov. 1, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- A team led by Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has been selected by the U.S. Navy to provide services in support of electronic warfare, electronic intelligence and communications intelligence equipment, systems and programs for the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division.

The award contains one base year and four one-year options and has a potential value of more than $28 million to Northrop Grumman's Information Technology sector. The Northrop Grumman team is one of five teams selected by the Navy for this multiple award contract.

"This new contract is a vote of confidence for our team and its ability to support new and emerging electronic warfare, electronic intelligence and communications intelligence systems for the Navy."

Northrop Grumman will provide engineering, technical, logistic and program-management services. Tasks to be performed include software, hardware and systems engineering; configuration management; integrated logistics support; technical documentation; training; hardware repair; racks and cables manufacturing; and installations.

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division, provides test and evaluation, software engineering, in-service engineering and integrated logistics support for surface warfare combat systems and subsystems, unique equipment and related expendable ordnance of the Navy fleet.

The Northrop Grumman team includes Anteon Corp., Fairfax, Va., and Research and Development Solutions Inc., McLean, Va. Work on the program will be performed primarily in Tidewater, Va.
