FINNISH PARLIAMENTARY AGRICULTURE AND FORESTRY COMMITTEE SUBMITTED STATEMENT ON KEMIRA DEAL TO COMMERCE COMMITTEE


The Finnish parliamentary committee of Agriculture and Forestry has submitted their statement to the Commerce Committee on the preliminary agreement concerning the proposed arrangement between the Finnish state and Industri Kapital. According to the statement, parliamentary agreement to giving up state holding in Kemira as proposed by government is not to be granted.

The proposed arrangement aims at joining together the business activities of Kemira Oyj, Dynea Oy and Sydsvenska Kemi AB.

The committee work focused on considering the potential influence of the proposed arrangement on Finnish agriculture and forestry

The parliamentary process continues with the statement of the Commerce Committee to Parliament, to be followed by a vote either for or against the government's proposal. The decision will be based on a simple majority.
