Makovsky & Company Names Hulus Alpay Senior Vice President And Head of Investor Relations Practice


NEW YORK, Jan. 14, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Makovsky & Company announced today the appointment of Hulus Alpay as Senior Vice President and Investor Relations practice leader.

During his career, Mr. Alpay has developed successful investor relations campaigns and consulted with both Fortune 1000 companies and promising start-ups, including Procter & Gamble, Hanson PLC, Intertan Inc., Quixote Corp. and Fuel-Tech Inc.

"In addition to a successful career in investor relations, Hulus possesses a background that includes capital markets experience and corporate advisory work, making him the ideal candidate to spearhead our Investor Relations practice," said Ken Makovsky, the firm's president. Prior to joining Makovsky & Co., Mr. Alpay was with Morgen-Walke Associates, where he served as a Vice President and team leader within the firm's Investor Relations practice. Previously, he was with the Carson Group, a global shareholder research and related advisory services company and held several research positions with Merrill Lynch Asset Management and Michel Marks, the former chairman of the New York Mercantile Exchange. Mr. Alpay began his career in communications as a Legislative Aide for the State of Connecticut writing speeches. He is a graduate of the University of Hartford and was awarded an MBA by Monmouth University in 1996.
