Color Imaging Expands Digital Copier Division

Logical Expansion Due to Strong Experience in Manufacturing Laser Printer Toners and Components

ATLANTA, Jan. 29, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Color Imaging, Inc. (OTCBB:CIMG), a leading manufacturer of high-quality laser printer and digital copier toners, has expanded its operations to increase its product offerings for the most popular digital copiers. The company is now offering highly competitive parts in addition to its existing toner products for Canon, Ricoh and Toshiba copiers.

"This was a logical expansion for Color Imaging based on our history, leadership and experience in manufacturing imaging products," said Charles Allison, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "We've leveraged our extensive research and development capabilities and new manufacturing facilities to produce the highest quality digital products at a much lower cost and in a more efficient and timely manner. Those advantages will yield tangible benefits to our customers who, in fact, purchased over one million copier toner cartridges from us during 2001 with zero defects."

Allison noted that current market trends within the copier industry influenced the timing of the Company's decision to expand its commitment into the digital copier market.

"The switch from high-margin analog copier toners to lower-margin digital toners has adversely impacted aftermarket profit margins for distributors," he explained, "using digital copier consumables from Color Imaging will allow distributors to realize significantly higher margins and the new division will offer a full line of consumable products, including imaging drums and component parts -- as a one-stop shop."

"We have achieved the goal of product consistency in performance and versatility that matches those products supplied by the OEM at a much lower cost to the user," adds Allison.

In addition to its full line of digital copier consumables, the Company also provides private labeling for dealers, same-day shipping and toll-free customer support.

Color Imaging develops and manufactures consumable products used in laser printers, analog and digital copiers and supplies complete printing systems for commercial printers. Consumable products include black text, color and specialty toners, including MICR (magnetic ink characters that are printed on checks and other financial documents). A complete printing system that installs directly on existing offset presses is provided for the commercial printer. The system expands conventional offset printing capabilities to include the printing of unlimited computer-driven variable data, including images, bar codes, MICR, and alphanumeric sequences. These functions address the needs of the commercial printers for the digital processing and printing of variable data at extremely high speeds and eliminates all conventional prepress processes, such as the preparation of printing plates and mixing of inks.
