ESPOO, Finland, Jan. 29, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- TietoEnator has signed a general agreement with the National Board of Student Aid, the company department of the Swedish Patent and Registration Office, the National Social Insurance Board and the National Government Employee Pensions Board. The agreement further strengthens TietoEnator's position as supplier of IT consultancy services to the state authorities.
The general agreement is valid for two years with an option of an extension for a further year. The consultancy services involved concern operational development, strategy, project management, system development, system administration, computer operations and techniques.
Altogether, the general agreement is expected to turn over SEK 300-400 million per year and TietoEnator is one of the companies chosen as supplier to the authorities in Sundsvall.
- For a long time Sundsvall has had a significant position and role in IT Sweden. The operations of the state authorities in the locality are characterised by a large degree of advanced IT solutions. In order to satisfy the authorities' needs for qualified IT services, TietoEnator has, among other things, expanded its operations with some 30 employees during the last year. The new general agreement strengthens us further in our work of expanding in the region and we will exert ourselves to produce the best consultants. At present TietoEnator's office in Sundsvall consists of 40 employees with the qualifications that well match the requested competence profiles in the now signed general agreement.
The general agreement with the Sundsvall authorities supports TietoEnator's strategy of increasing the consultant concentration within the state sector in Sweden.
