ESPOO, Finland, January 31, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- TietoEnator and If P&C Insurance Company (former Sampo Insurance company) have together implemented an Internet-based insurance folder for retail customers. It offers a net-based service for handling personal insurance. For the customer this means quicker and more flexible possibilities to handle his insurance affairs. The service taken into use now is the first functional insurance folder for retail customers in Finland.
The customer will get all services connected to his insurance and claims via a personal insurance folder (www.sampo.fi/henkiloasiakkaat). The first phase includes e.g. information on the customer's insurance coverage, possibility to obtain new insurance, draw up claims indemnities as well as make various requests for change and certificates. Later on, new services and features supporting overall customership will be added to the system.
The technical implementation is based on TietoEnator's Web Component Suite solution and the latest features of J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition). Information between the customer and the insurance company is exchanged via a secure communication channel.
