Pointsec Mobile Technologies Enters Into Agreement With Electrolux AB

The Pointsec Security Solution Becomes Standard for Certain Equipment Throughout the Group

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, March 18, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- The IT security company Protect Data's subsidiary company Pointsec Mobile Technologies has entered into an agreement with Electrolux regarding the security application Pointsec(r). Electrolux intends to protect the Group's portable computers as well as a number of critical desktop computers with Pointsec(r).

Electrolux AB will pay for licenses and support in line with the installation of the software on the Group's computers. There is no agreement about the amount of licenses.

"In collaboration with the Group's internal IT supplier Electrolux IT Solutions, we are building up a service around Pointsec which is making it possible to reach out with the security solution to employees and their equipment around the world. In this way, Electrolux can provide security for the Group's computers in a cost-effective and uniform manner," said Jonas Areskoug, European Manager for Pointsec.

"Protecting information, even when it is saved on the individual's computer, is becoming increasingly important. On the basis of the solution using Pointsec, we intend gradually to address the Group's portable computers in particular, but also desktop computers on which especially sensitive information is stored," said Ingrid Mogensen, Head of Information Security at Electrolux AB.

Pointsec is a security solution that uses encryption to protect all information and software on desktop PCs, portable and handheld computers. Only the user able to give the correct identity and password may access the information on the computer. Pointsec has been developed for large organisations and companies, and is adapted in such a way that it can be simply and cost effectively installed and administered centrally over a network.

Pointsec Mobile Technologies has previously had considerable success within the consultant business sector (WM-data, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, etc.) and among public authorities (the US Department of Justice, the US Department of Defence, etc.).
