Metso Paper will deliver an extensive paper machine rebuild to UPM-Kymmene's Jämsänkoski mill in Finland. The Jämsänkoski PM 3, which is Europe's leading paper machine producing label papers, will be rebuilt by the early spring of 2003. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the order.
The delivery includes a renewal of the coater, calender and winder aimed at raising the machine's speed and improving the paper quality. The machine was last rebuilt in 1998, when Metso Paper modernized the wire and press sections.
The main responsibility for the rebuild will be taken by Metso Paper's Järvenpää units, which manufacture paper coaters, calenders, reels and winders.
