Northrop Grumman Hosts Conference for its Top Supplier Team


DALLAS, April 19, 2002 -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Integrated Systems sector stressed the importance of working together successfully at its Supplier Symposium here Friday.

With the theme "Designing for the Future," the conference was held for senior executives of the sector's top supplier team and government representatives. Nearly 400 companies from the United States and Europe and representatives from each of the military services attended the event.

"Today, we are the third largest defense company in the United States. Northrop Grumman is 100,000 people strong, and we have about 6,000 suppliers domestically and internationally who are essential team members," said Dr. Ronald D. Sugar, Northrop Grumman president and chief operating officer, who presented an overview of the corporation. "Our work on products and systems is a collaborative effort and we are precisely aligned to meet emerging customer requirements," he added.

During the symposium, speakers presented information regarding key groups including customers, investors and Congress.

"Industry is continuously being challenged to innovate across the total business enterprise and we at Northrop Grumman see the strong relationships with our teammates as essential to achieving that goal," said Scott J. Seymour, Northrop Grumman corporate vice president and president of the Integrated Systems sector, who welcomed attendees. "Together with our nation, we face a time of unprecedented challenges and only through our collaborative efforts will we deliver the capabilities our customers need to maintain a strong national defense," Seymour continued.

Tom Vice, Integrated Systems' vice president of Materiel, served as host for the event. "Performance and competition drive and push us. Our suppliers, who are part of our collective enterprise, help bring us the innovation we need to achieve excellence in both those areas," he said.
