Nokia Introduces IP30 To Secure Telecommuter and Small, Satellite Office Networks

Singapore, April 22, 2002 - Nokia (NYSE: NOK) today announced the availability of the Nokia IP30 Firewall and Nokia IP30 Tele, a new desktop security system for small offices and telecommuters. With the addition of the Nokia IP30, the Nokia IP security platform line now extends to every market segment, from the individual desktop to the data center, with high quality, robust, manageable secure solutions.

The Nokia IP30 tightly integrates Safe@Home(TM) and Safe@Office(TM) software developed by SofaWare Technologies, a Check Point Software Technologies (NASDAQ:CHKP) affiliated company; with the Nokia purpose-built hardware platform. The Nokia IP30 Firewall is a firewall appliance, ideal for stand-alone offices that need network access but do not require VPN connectivity. The Nokia IP30 Tele provides firewall and VPN capabilities to securely connect to a corporate LAN from home, or a small office to connect to the corporate headquarters or data center.

"Nokia's market leading family of IP security products now reaches literally every application, functionality and price point - whether it be for the telecommuter, branch office or data center," said Dan MacDonald, Vice President, Product Management, Nokia Internet Communications. "The Nokia portfolio is now so flexible, a customer can deploy a VPN network configured with basic access control functionality, or optionally with advanced firewall functionality."

The Nokia IP30 provides a cost-effective solution with pre-loaded and pre-licensed software tightly integrated on proven Nokia hardware, simplifying the licensing and deployment process. Distributed enterprises and service providers are able to deliver the same trusted Nokia brand across an entire network infrastructure, regardless of the size of the network. This is crucial to companies, enabling them to manage and scale their security platforms across an entire network to meet specific customer needs all from a single leading security vendor.

The Nokia IP30 performance supports typical connection types at small offices such as DSL, cable modem, E1 or T1. The Nokia IP30 is particularly appropriate for small offices that generally lack local IT resources to support and maintain a secure network environment. Consistent with the entire IP network security appliance portfolio, the Nokia IP30 is backed by Nokia world class "First Call - Final Resolution" global service and support.

The Nokia IP30 will be available globally in June 2002.
