Allgon Chosen as First Supplier of CDMA Equipment


TABY, Sweden, April 23, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Allgon, the global supplier of radio-based infrastructure solutions for cellular communications, has been appointed supplier by one of the major North American system suppliers for CDMA mobile phone and data systems.

Allgon will develop and supply integrated filter panels for their base stations for CDMA 850 and CDMA 1900 over several years. The main markets for these baste stations are North America and China. The first deliveries are planned to start in June 2002. This includes, Low Noise Amplifiers (LNA), directional couplers, splitters and other equipment, which are crucial for obtaining high radio quality in CDMA services.

"We were appointed in hard competition with several other suppliers which confirms Allgon's competence and experience in advanced base station technology," said Jeff Bork, CEO of Allgon.

This is one of several awards in short time for Allgon for this type of equipment and further strengthens Allgon's position as one of the major players within RF-products for mobile infrastructure.

Allgon's business concept is to develop, manufacture and market radio-based solutions and other products for wireless telephony and data communications. Allgon's product range consists of antenna systems for infrastructure in mobile telephone networks; filters, combiners and similar products for base stations; repeater networks; microwave equipment and mobile telephone antennas. Allgon's invoiced sales amounted to SEK 2,001 million in 2001. The number of employees at the end of 2001 amounted to 950. Allgon was founded in 1946.
