ESPOO, Finland, May 8, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- TietoEnator has signed agreements with the Kainuu hospital district and the city of Kajaani regarding the delivery of the Effica software solution as the patient information and customer service system for each organisation. The central goal is to make local cooperation more effective, while developing customer service.
"The Kainuu health care district has traditionally engaged in close cooperation with all ten ownership groups, and the data system must therefore also support and deepen this development further. After thorough testing, we became convinced that Effica supports this process as well as gives us access to e.g. electronic patient records," said health care district manager Hannu Leskinen.
"Being able to extend cooperation and arrange the operations while sensibly taking the health care district into account was a central criteria when choosing a data system in Kajaani. Effica also supports our plans to join our laboratory and occupational health care services with the health care district. We want to move information around, not people," emphasized Tuula Sassi, chief physician in Kajaani.
Through Effica, the health care district and the Kajaani health centre receive a shared solution, which, in addition to patient administrative information system and electronic patient records, also covers the laboratory operations, invoicing and reception operations, institutional and home care, special health care and dental care.
