LINKOPING, Sweden, May 22, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- AerotechTelub Contracting AB has received an order worth approximately SEK16.5 million from the National Rail Administration, Eastern region, for the introduction of new, modern electrical, telecom and signal systems that will mean that the goods train capacity at Mjlby station can be increased.
"This is an important order and further evidence of our ability to implement new telecom and signal systems within the traffic infrastructure area that has a very large development potential," said Gran Jakobsson, Business Manager AerotechTelub Contracting.
"The new systems will offer a safer, quicker and more flexible passage for the goods trains in Mjlby," said Dan Sennerby, Project Director, National Rail Administration, Eastern region.
Mjlby station is part of the goods train route through the Bergslagen area and is very important for the north/south goods transports through the country. The station has very heavy traffic today. The present goods train capacity is insufficient and means that several goods trains must be directed onto other, longer routes.
