Bright Star Ventures Commences 2002 Exploration Program on Tulameen Platinum Project, B.C.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 29, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Management of Bright Star Ventures Ltd. (CDNX:BSV) is pleased to announce the start of the 2002 field season on its Tulameen Platinum Project, located in south-central B.C. BSV's office in Coalmont, B.C. is now fully functional and will serve as the regional exploration headquarters.

TR Prospecting Ltd. (Dr. Tom Richards, P. Geol.) has been engaged to provide geological services to the Project. Dr. Richards and a team of four highly qualified and experienced staff will be conducting sampling, prospecting and geological mapping programs on many of the prospective areas of the Tulameen Project identified in the fall 2001 airborne EM/Mag survey.

Initial work will focus on the south-facing slope of Grasshopper Mountain, where previous drill results have indicated platinum-mineralized intercepts. Please refer to the Company's press release of January 24, 2002 for recent drill results of 3 to 5 gm/t platinum over 10 ft intervals. BSV's program will include an expansion of the exploration in the areas of the previous drill holes, trenching and prospecting of new EM targets, and developing grids for rock saw channel sampling. This program will provide extensive new information on Grasshopper Mountain's platinum mineralization, enhancing targets for this year's drill program.

While the above work on Grasshopper Mountain is progressing, a road crew will be simultaneously developing access in the South Olivine Mountain area where previous grab samples reported up to 3% copper, 2.6 g/t gold-platinum group metals and identification of a previously an unknown EM/Mag anomaly. These areas will undergo prospecting, line cutting and IP surveys to develop drilling targets. The BJP 1, 2, & 3 claims in this area are in a 50%-50% joint venture with Cusac Gold Mines Ltd. listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and Over The Counter, NASDAQ (CQC, CUSIF.OB).

Other project areas, including South Grasshopper and Hines Creek, will also be developed. Bright Star anticipates a minimum of three project areas to be drill-ready by summer. Ongoing investigation of additional identified anomalies could produce further drill targets.

Reports of field programs, including sample values, other fieldwork, and drilling target progress updates will be released as soon as information is available. Bright Star Ventures is dedicated to building share value by implementing an aggressive exploration programs on the Tulameen Project culminating in multiple drill programs for this year.
