Wilson Greatbatch Technologies, Inc. Announces Completion of Major Research and Development Facilities Expansion at its Western New York Location


CLARENCE, N.Y., June 4, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Wilson Greatbatch Technologies, Inc. ("WGT") (NYSE:GB), a leading developer and manufacturer of power sources and other critical components used in implantable medical devices and other technically demanding applications, today announced the completion of its major research and development facilities expansion at its Clarence, New York location.

In announcing the completion of the expansion, Edward F. Voboril, Chairman of the Board, President and CEO stated: "The completion of the expansion of our research and development facilities, on time and on budget, will allow Wilson Greatbatch Technologies to maintain our technological leadership as a market leader in batteries and other components for the implantable medical device industry. This new 12,300 square foot research and development center includes dry (humidity-controlled) labs, ambient atmosphere labs, materials research areas, and supporting capabilities. This expansion will permit us to continue attracting and retaining the outstanding scientists and engineers."
