JTM Food Group Selects Ross Systems' iRenaissance to Support Growth in Packaged Meat Business

ATLANTA and CINCINNATI, June 17, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Ross Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:ROSS), a leading provider of enterprise management software and e-business solutions for process manufacturers, announced that JTM Food Group has licensed the iRenaissance enterprise suite of software solutions. JTM produces food products for the food service industry, retail customers, school food service and the military.

JTM has experienced strong growth recently with the addition of school food service contracts awarded by the federal government and state agencies. The expanded business has created many new opportunities for JTM and also heightened the need for advanced quality management, traceability, and detailed inventory reporting.

"The strong growth throughout our business and our involvement in the federal school distribution program has placed increasing demands on our reporting capabilities," said Bill Meier, Chief Financial Officer for JTM. "As we take pride in our ability to maintain stringent quality, traceability and customer service requirements, we felt the entry into the ERP world would provide a cost effective solution to meeting the ever increasing demands of the business. After a thorough evaluation of leading packages, we chose the iRenaissance suite from Ross Systems because of its deep functional fit in the food industry. We feel iRenaissance will address our specific operational requirements and provide a higher level of detail analysis and reporting functions needed to comply with future government regulations."

In addition to the increased external reporting requirements, JTM has also identified new internal reporting challenges. "Due to the increasing variety of our products," added Mr. Meier "we have more demands to monitor and analyze the production efficiencies of each product line. We're confident that we can continue to find hidden opportunities for enhanced profitability. Just as other Ross customers have done, we'll leverage the advanced cost analysis capabilities of iRenaissance to establish standard efficiency goals and then manage performance to those goals."

"We are pleased to add another leading producer of meat products to our growing list of food and beverage customers," said J. Patrick Tinley, Chairman and CEO of Ross Systems. "Our selection by JTM Food Group further solidifies our position as a leading provider of enterprise and quality management, planning, costing, and e-commerce solutions for mid-tier food companies."
