FLS miljø wins major electrostatic precipitator contract in North America

FLS miljø Inc., the US based subsidiary of FLS miljø a/s, has been awarded a contract for the supply of a Wet Electrostatic Precipitator (Wet ESP) by a major, US based boiler and auxiliary equipment company.

The contract, which has a value of more than USD 23 million (around DKK 180 million), covers the supply of a single Wet ESP unit for three fossil fired 350MW power boilers for a utility based in North America. The unit will become operational in early 2004. The contract is included in this year's sales budget and will be taken to income in the financial years of 2002 - 2004 in line with the supply and installation of equipment. The order does not affect the most recently announced 2002 earnings forecast for FLS Industries.

"This order underlines FLS miljø's position as a significant player in the utility market in North America and enhances our prospects for participation in the expected growth of the Air Pollution Control business in North America and the rest of the World. We expect that the demand for the Wet ESP technology in all industrialized countries will follow the trend from North America", says President and CEO, Mr. Preben Tolstrup, FLS miljø a/s.

Based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, FLS miljø Inc., which is a subsidiary of FLS miljø a/s and a member of the FLS Group, provides air pollution control systems and services to power plants and industrial plants in North and South America.

As announced on 19 June, FLS miljø's global air pollution control business will be transferred to F.L. Smidth Group with effect from 1 July 2002. See http://www.flsindustries.com for additional information.
