Exact Identification Corporation Is Shipping AprinT One Touch Fingerprint Readers

SACRAMENTO, Calif., July 18, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Exact Identification Corporation (Pink Sheets:EXCT):

The first shipment of the AprinT(r) One Touch fingerprint verification readers was shipped to a customer in New Mexico on July 9, 2002. "This customer has been patiently waiting for over 6 months," said John Hunepohl, President of Exact Identification. "They were instrumental in evaluating our prototype units and validated our design concepts."

The AprinT(r) One Touch is designed to integrate into existing access control systems that need or want to add fingerprint verification to selected doors. Each One Touch can store a minimum of 1,000 fingerprint templates.

The AprinT(r) One Touch was engineered with three fundamentals rules in mind:

-- The customer will not have to install any additional cable. Use
the existing card or keypad reader cable only.
-- The customer will not have to rebadge any employee. Employees and
contractors use their existing cards or PINs.
-- The readers will not impact the existing access control system nor
require retraining of the access control operators.

"We met all of those requirements," said Hunepohl, "as well as having a very simple and easy-to-use enrollment process. It takes less than 60 seconds to enroll a user's fingerprint."

Other AprinT(r) product offerings are:

AprinT(r) Smart Touch: designed the same as the One Touch with the exception that the fingerprint template is stored on a smart card. The Company has completed design using both MiFare and HID's iClass smart cards and readers.

AprinT(r) Sure Touch: designed the same as the One Touch with the exception that a user does not need a card or PIN to activate the unit. A user simply places their finger on the device for verification. The number of users is limited to 30 but we feel there is a large market for a device that does not require anything but a valid finger for access. This design should be completed by September 2002.

AprinT(r) SAM or Security Access Module is a device that can be added or used with any of the AprinT(r) Fingerprint Readers. SAM provides a form C relay for controlling the electric strike or magnetic door lock. AprinT(r) SAM allows any of the AprinT(r) Fingerprint Readers to operate as a stand-alone device.
