SAS Group Management fully staffed, Gunilla Berg and John S. Dueholm New Members


STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Aug. 7, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Two new members of the SAS Group Management were appointed at today's Board of Directors meeting. Gunilla Berg will be the new Chief Financial Officer of the SAS Group. John S. Dueholm will be responsible for the Airline Support and Airline Related Businesses area. Consequently, SAS Group management is fully staffed.

SAS's management organization follows the business structure adopted on July 1, 2002 and which is a logical consequence of the acquisitions of Braathens and Spanair, among other actions. To achieve a distinct role division between the Group's airlines, airline-related businesses and hotels, the Group is managed within the framework of the Scandinavian Airlines, Subsidiary & Affiliated Airlines, Hotels and Airline Support and Airline Related Businesses areas.

Accordingly, the new Group management comprises: Joergen Lindegaard, President and CEO, until further notice also acting as Chief Operating Officer in Scandinavian Airlines. Gunnar Reitan, Deputy CEO, responsible for Subsidiary & Affiliated Airlines and Hotels, including the Braathens and Spanair airlines as well as the hotel operations in Rezidor SAS Hospitality. Gunilla Berg, Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer John S. Dueholm, Executive Vice President, responsible for Airline Support and Airline Related Businesses, including SAS Cargo, Scandinavian Ground Services, Scandinavian Technical Services, World Sales and Scandinavian IT Group. Bernhard Rikardsen, Executive Vice President, responsible for Corporate Administration & Support, including Human Resources, Corporate Communications and the Group's support functions.

Gunilla Berg is a MSc in Economics and Business Administration, born in 1960. Her career has included various positions in banking and industry, most recently as CFO and Executive Vice President of Kooperativa Forbundet 1) (Coop). Gunilla assumes her position on September 16.

John S. Dueholm is a MSc in Economics and Business Administration, born in 1951, with a background that includes positions in SAS Data and manager 1996-98 of the SAS Technical Division. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President in Group4Falck 2) . He will assume his position at SAS on September 1.
