Share trading

The average share trading turnover per business day amounted to SEK 7 911 million during August (during the past 12-month period: 12 978). In July 2002 the average share trading turnover per business day amounted to SEK 7 744 million. The average number of closed transactions per business day has been 38 263 during August (during the past 12-month period: 39 377).

The turnover rate during August was 105% (during the past 12-month period: 129%).

Derivative trading

Average derivative trading turnover (Swedish share and interest-rate related contracts) amounted during August to 195 823 contracts (during the past 12-month period 240 648) per business day. The average derivative trading turnover amounted during July to 173 400 per business day. The average number of contracts in share-related derivative products amounted during August to 182 095 contracts (during the past 12- month period 216 671) per business day, while the average number of contracts in interest-rate related derivative products amounted during August to 13 729 contracts (during the past 12-month period 23 976) per business day.

The total value of trade in stock options amounted for August to SEK 55.1 (during the past 12-month 97.4) million per day. The total value of trade in stocks options amounted for July to SEK 46.5 million per day.

Warrants trading

The average warrants trading turnover per business day amounted to SEK 24 102 thousand during August (during the past 12-month period: 33 937). In July 2002 the average warrants trading turnover per business day amounted to SEK 20 717 thousand.

Index developments

The OMX index decreased during August by 2.9% and closed on 525.8 (31 July 2002: 541.3). The Benchmark index closed on 178.3 as of 30 August (31 July 2002: 185.3), which is a decreased of 3.8%. The SX All-share index (the SAX index) closed on 158.1 (31 July 2002: 163.2), which corresponds to a decrease of 3.2% during the month.

The Telecommunication Services Index increased during the month and closed on 392.2 (31 July 2002: 367.8), which is an increase of 6.6%. The Health Care Index decreased most during the month and closed on 143.8 (31 July 2002: 168.2), which is a decrease of 14.5 %.

Listed companies

During August, no companies have been listed/delisted on the A-list or the O-list. The number of listed companies on Stockholmsborsen is 299, of which 67 are listed on the A-list and 232 on the O-list. Total market value for the companies on the A-list amounts to SEK 1 491 billion, and on the O-list to SEK 399 billion. Total market value thereby amounted to SEK 1 890 billion as of 30 August 2002 (31 July 2002: 1 925).
