LINKOPING, Sweden, Sept. 10, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Kreatel Communications AB, a leading supplier of IP-based set-top box (STB) systems, has signed an agreement with yet another energy supply company in Norway. Lyse Energi AS in Stavanger, has chosen Kreatel's IP set-top box system for delivering broadband services to its subscribers. This is the second agreement for Kreatel with a Norwegian energy supply company. Kreatel is also delivering its systems to Agder Energi AS.
Lyse Energi AS is planning to roll out fiber to the home (FTTH) to 20,000 subscribers during a few years time, offering services such as high speed Internet, broadcast TV channels and VoD. The first 500 subscribers are under deployment.

Via fiber all the way to the home, Lyse's subscribers will be able to sign up for a range of different broadband services. The project includes world leading suppliers such as Cisco for network equipment, IBM as the system integration partner, Tandberg Television for TV and video head end as well as for the portal delivering the services to the subscriber, Bitband for video servers, and accordingly, Kreatel for the IP set-top box system.
