CEO Council to Host First Summit

Precedes SEC Small Business Forum


WASHINGTON, Sept. 16, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- The CEO Council, Inc., the non-profit advocacy group representing public companies, has announced its First Annual CEO Council Summit on September 25, 2002 to be held at The Great Hall of the Historic Charles Sumner School Museum, 1201 17th Street, NW, in Washington, D.C. The Summit will precede the SEC's Small Business Forum, which begins September 26, also in Washington, D.C.

"Our panels will include experts in areas of concern to senior officers and directors," said Stephen A. Day, CEO Council Board Member and Chair of the Summit Host Committee. "Among the topics will be Corporate Governance, Executive Compensation and Compliance. Our goal is to serve as a voice for the small- and medium-sized public companies."

Per Mr. Day: "The mission of the CEO Council is to provide a common voice and platform for officers and directors of public companies, and enable them to more effectively interpret and participate in the corporate governing and regulatory process to ensure compliance, to safeguard shareholder value and to clearly demonstrate a dedication to fair and ethical business practices."
