STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Sept. 17, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- On October 1, 2002, Telia is reducing the rates for its mobile broadband service, HomeRun, for Telia's mobile customers. HomeRun is for people who need a fast mobile Internet connection at the office and other locations.
"By giving our customers a combined offering for mobile telephony and HomeRun, we want to make it easier for everyone who needs to communicate and work on the move, regardless of whether they are at an airport, at the office or sitting in a cafe," said Kelly Odell, head of Telia Mobile Sweden.
Monthly rate reduced from SEK 300 to SEK 40
For Telia's mobile customers the monthly rate for the Base subscription is being reduced from SEK 300 to SEK 40 and the traffic rate from SEK 2.40 to SEK 2.00 per minute. The entrance fee is being reduced from SEK 495 to SEK 200.
Telia Mobile also offers a Flat Rate subscription for customers who want to surf on an unlimited basis at a fixed price. The monthly charge for Flat Rate is being reduced by SEK 100 to SEK 1,395 and the entrance fee of SEK 495 kronor has been discontinued. A 24-hour subscription will continue to cost SEK 96.
At the same time as the rate reductions are being introduced for Telia's present mobile customers, the pricing structure is being changed for HomeRun users who are not Telia subscribers. Among other changes, the monthly rate for Base has been reduced 50 percent to SEK 150, while the cost-free one-hour connection time per month has been discontinued.
