Bright Star to Start Drill Program and Financial Advisory Appointment

VANCOUVER, B.C., Sept. 20, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Management of Bright Star Ventures Ltd. (TSX Venture Exchange:BSV) is pleased to announce that road access to the DP Zone is in progress.

The DP Zone is a magnetite deposit that trends NNW over a surface area initially measuring 1.2 km x 500 meters in size, and has been selected to be the first drill target for the 2002 exploration season. A contoured EM Mag map over the target area indicates that the central core of the DP Zone contains greater than 35% magnetite. Disseminated and fracture-controlled pyrite-chalcopyrite mineralization with malachite staining has been sampled over a large area within magnetite-rich hornblende clinopyroxenite. A Pd-Pt-Cu-Au lithogeochemical anomaly measuring 300 m x 200 m in size has been identified at this time, and this anomaly is open to the north, east and south. Over 200 soil and rock samples have shown consistent PGE and Cu occurrences in the targeted areas including a 1-meter bedrock chip sample in this zone assaying 2.08 g/t PGE with 0.17% copper.

A soil survey conducted over this area has delineated two significant NNW trending Pt-Pd-Cu soil geochemistry anomalies. Individual soil sample values within these anomalies contain up to 280 ppb Pt, 195 Pd and up to 4500 ppm Cu over a combined strike length of greater than 2 kilometers. These two well-defined soil anomalies remain open along strike and will be subjected to additional geophysical and geochemical surveys prior to drilling. Drill site preparation will commence within the next 3 to 5 days. The Company is currently tendering a contract for a minimum of 1,000 metres of NQ drilling scheduled to start within the next 10 days.
