STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Sept. 30, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Nordea (Other OTC:NRDDF) (Stockholm:NDA) has appointed new heads of Retail Banking operations in Finland and Denmark. New head of Retail Banking Finland is 50-year-old Harri Sailas, and the new head of Retail Banking Denmark is Peter Lybecker, 48. Both will report to Kari Jordan, Head of Retail Banking in Nordea, starting from October 1.
Harri Sailas currently heads Regional Bank Helsinki and Uusimaa in Retail Banking Finland. He has a solid background in banking, where he started his career in 1975. Since then he has held many different positions within the bank.
Peter Lybecker's current responsibilities in Retail Banking Denmark include Regional Bank East Denmark, Electronic Banking and Credits. He has a strong banking background. Peter Lybecker joined the bank in 1976 and has since occupied a variety of positions.

The appointments take effect from October 1, 2002.
