CashGuard: Interim report January - September 2002


TABY, Sweden, Oct. 18, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- CashGuard today announced that the first order for EurosystemCashGuard has received its first order for the company's Eurosystem from two REWE stores in Germany.

- Group operating revenues rose 3.6% to MSEK 80 (corresponding period in the preceding year: 77).

- Operating profit amounted to MSEK 4.4 (7.9).

- Cash flow during the period was stable.

- CashGuard and SQS exhibited their first joint product concept.

Comments on the period

Sales during the first nine months of the year amounted to MSEK 79.6(76.8), an increase by 3.6% compared with the year-earlier period.Operating profit amounted to MSEK 4.4 (7.9), after charges of MSEK 6.5for the European establishment of CashGuard, of which operating lossesof subsidiaries accounted for MSEK 3.4.

During the third quarter, the Group had sales of MSEK 15.0 (28.7),down 47.7% compared with Q3 2001. An operating loss of MSEK 2.4 (3.3)and a pretax loss of MSEK 2.6 (3.0) were reported for the quarter. Cashflow remained stable.

Significant events during the period

In early October, CashGuard secured its first order for the company's new Eurosystem. Two franchise stores within REWE, one of the largest retail chains in Europe, placed the order, which is worth approximately MSEK 0.9. Installation will be conducted at the beginning 2003.
