STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Oct. 28, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Protect Data today announced that Government and military strength IT security solutions are now available to corporate users with the collaboration, announced today, of leading security solution providers Pointsec Mobile Technologies and Rainbow Technologies.
This partnership combines Pointsec and Rainbow Technologies' proven solutions for IT security to provide users with secure two-factor authentication, using Rainbow's iKey 2032 USB authentication token, together with; access control, full hard drive encryption and boot protection using Pointsec for PC. In addition to strong authentication of Pointsec for PC the iKey 2032 can also securely generate and store digital certificates for use with PKI systems, enabling secure eMail (digitally signed and encrypted) and secure web access, with no additional hardware required.
Pointsec and Rainbow have incorporated their solutions in such a way that the extra layers of security protection are simple, affordable, effective and most importantly quick and easy to use. The joint partnership will offer users two step authentication which combines two proven technologies based on the concept of "something you know" such as a password or PIN and "something you have" such as a physical token from Rainbow Technologies.
These solutions will have particular appeal to organisations with requirements for data security including those in: healthcare, financial services, aerospace and defence, high technology and consumer goods companies. For high assurance environments, the iKey 2032 is also available in tamper-evident format (FIPS-140-1 level 2 certified) that meets the stringent requirements of many military and government agencies.
