Nordisk Renting Collaborates with DaimlerChrysler and Johansson & Rehn Byggnads AB on the Construction and Leasing of a New Nordic Central Warehouse in Lerum


STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Oct. 30, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Nordisk Renting has signed an agreement on the construction of a new logistics facility for DaimlerChrysler Sverige AB in Lerum. A 15-year lease agreement was also signed in conjunction with this. The cost is estimated at around SEK 70 million.

The DaimlerChrysler group generated sales of EUR 152.9 billion and had around 372,500 employees in the financial year 2001. DaimlerChrysler Sverige AB, a wholly-owned sub-subsidiary of DaimlerChrysler AG, deals in the import and wholesale of cars, vans, lorries and spare parts in Sweden. In 2001, the company's turnover was SEK 4.5 billion.

The logistics property will be constructed by Johansson & Rehn Byggnads AB and encompasses a centrally-heated warehouse covering approximately 7,600 square metres and around 700 square metres of office space. The property will be situated in an attractive location in Lerum Municipality, approximately 23 km from central Gothenburg and around 20 km from Landvetter airport. It is estimated that construction will be complete in the summer of 2003.

"DaimlerChrysler wishes to focus on its core operations and therefore does not want to tie up capital in property. For some time now, we have needed a more modern, purpose-built central warehouse in an accessible location for our Nordic operations. Our collaboration with Nordisk Renting, a professional and long-term property owner, has made this project possible," said Bernd Siffling, European Logistics Manager at DaimlerChrysler AG.
