Northrop Grumman Wins INS Information Technology Blanket Purchase Agreement


HERNDON, Va., Nov. 5, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has been awarded a single blanket purchase agreement (BPA) by the U.S. General Services Administration, Federal Technology Service, on behalf of the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS). Under the terms of the BPA, Northrop Grumman IT will provide information technology (IT) infrastructure and IT support services, a key element in assisting the border enforcement and immigration benefits missions of the agency.

The contract, the INS Technology Enterprise Automation Management Support program, has a potential value of $228 million over five years to Northrop Grumman's Information Technology sector.

The BPA represents the primary IT infrastructure and IT support services vehicle of the INS. Northrop Grumman IT will potentially support 40,000 desktops/servers and will sustain local area networks supporting more than 1,400 sites.

Northrop Grumman IT will deliver an integrated help desk and network operations solution from its state-of-the-art facility in Lafayette, Colo. In addition, the company will provide hardware maintenance; desktop/server management; asset management; infrastructure deployment; design, planning, installation and certification of the infrastructure cable plant; day-to-day IT security operational support to ensure compliance with federal, Justice Department and INS computer and telecommunications security policies; and IT training to include developing and delivering training in the use of commercial, off-the-shelf applications, the INS National Application System or specialized training due to changes in legislation, business policy or program requirements.

Northrop Grumman IT will also maintain ADP operations, operating agency mission and management systems located at the INS headquarters in Washington, D.C., and monitoring INS systems operations at the Justice Department's Data Center in Dallas, Texas.

The primary Northrop Grumman IT business team includes Siemens Business Services, Inc., Rye Brook, N.Y., and CEXEC, Inc., Dulles, Va.

The contract will add more than 500 new jobs to Northrop Grumman IT. Work on the program will be performed at more than 100 INS operating locations in the U.S. and at several INS international operating centers.
