Attention Veterans, Police, and Firefighters: Because You Are All Heroes, Ride a Duck for Free!

BOSTON, Nov. 6, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Celebrate Veteran's Day in style by letting Boston Duck Tours take you on the "Ride of your Life" for FREE! If you have served in the armed forces or are currently with the police or fire department, Boston Duck Tours would like to show you their appreciation by taking you on a Boston Duck Tour. And why not? These WWII amphibious vehicles are heroes as well. They served our country during WWII by carrying troops and supplies over land and water.

Seventeen veterans of the Second World War have found retirement to be very busy in Boston. During the past eight years, the seventeen amphibious vehicles of Boston Duck Tours -- the same ones that carried troops and equipment in both the European and Pacific theaters -- have transported more than two million people on the city's most unique, educational and fun tour. In recognition of all the heroes who served our country, Boston Duck Tours is, for the sixth year in a row, offering FREE rides to all war-and-peacetime veterans, and current police and firefighters during the week of Veterans Day, November 11th through 15th.

"All they have to do is simply show some proof of service," says Boston Duck Tours General Manager, Cindy Brown. "Our goal is to make every hero from every branch of service feel welcomed and, in our own way, to say thanks to them for their sacrifices."

Every veteran, current police officer and firefighter may register to win a glamorous Saturday night stay for two at the famous Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston, including Sunday brunch for two in Copley's Restaurant.

Veterans, police and firefighters alike will be entertained by Boston Duck Tours' squadron of tour guides, also known as ConDUCKtors. These men and women are not only well versed in Boston history (as well as being registered Coast Guard captains), but each presents the tour in his/her own quirky style, persona, and costume. It is said that because each ConDUCKtor brings so many unique qualities to the tour, one can ride Boston Duck Tours several times and have a new experience each time.

The tours, which originate from the Prudential Center on Boylston Street, begin at 9 a.m. and continue until one hour before sunset. For more information you can visit their website at: www.bostonducktours.com, or call: (617) 723-DUCK.
