LUND, Sweden, Nov. 14, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Precise Biometrics AB (publ) (Other OTC:PBMTF), developer and provider of world-leading and user-friendly biometric security solutions -- based on fingerprints -- has delivered, in collaboration with Technology Nexus Danmark A/S, an IT security solution for the Danish Air Materiel Command (Danska Flygmaterielkommandot abbr. FMK).
FMK, which is a division of the Danish Department of Defense, has an intranet system, part of which is isolated and part of which is open for access to the Internet. To begin with, FMK is implementing a log in solution for its open intranet, but it will also be testing a solution for the isolated intranet. This is the first biometrics-based security solution within the Danish Air Force -- other divisions within the Department of Defense are expected to follow.
The solution increases security; creates greater accessibility; and makes it easier for users to share workstations; and gain secure access to central applications and information. Users who are currently testing the fingerprint log in solution are very positive, and the solution has received a great deal of attention within the organization.
