Teleca: Industry Leaders Validate Interoperability of Mobile Multimedia Messaging Services

LAS VEGAS, Nov. 18, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Teleca (Stockholm:TELCb):

Demonstrating Seamless Multimedia Messaging Service Across Networks,
Handsets and Servers, a Live Industry Interoperability Presentation
Supports Timely Deployment of Innovative MMS Solutions Worldwide

Leading players from the wireless industry have come together for a Multivendor MMS Interoperability live presentation at COMDEX(R) FALL.

Participating vendors from the MMS client and handset side are Matsushita (Panasonic), Microsoft, Motorola, Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Teleca; and from the MMS server solution side: Comverse, Ericsson, Logica, Nokia, Openwave Systems Inc. and Tecnomen.

The initiative emphasizes the viability and importance of MMS interoperability and verifies in a live environment that multimedia messaging works seamlessly in a multivendor environment. This joint effort provides clear evidence that interoperability issues can be worked out together. The interoperability promotes more rapid delivery of compatible MMS services to wireless carries and their subscribers.

This live presentation provides an opportunity for vendors to validate the interoperability of their solutions based on open industry specifications, and a vehicle to communicate MMS benefits and ease-of-use for consumers and business users. All participating companies are members of the Open Mobile Alliance, and adhere to open MMS specifications created by OMA, which is designed to be a center for mobile service standardization work, stimulating and contributing to the creation of interoperable services across countries, operators and mobile terminals to meet the needs of both the consumers and business users.

Media and analysts are welcome to Multivendor MMS Interoperability Suite at room N216, 2nd level of Las Vegas Convention Center's North Hall, open from Monday to Friday during regular show hours.
