Reaching Los Hispanos -- New Book Focuses on Enhancing Relationships with the Hispanic Society

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 25, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Celsa Paloma Rocha has a mission in life: she hopes to help build a better relationship between the English-speaking world and the Hispanic society-at-large. Her book "How To Reach 'Los Hispanos'" (now available through 1stBooks Library) is the culmination of her efforts.

To begin, Rocha concentrates on three basic building blocks her book can offer in understanding the Hispanic community:

The book is informative. It strives to build a bridge between both parties -- Spanish people and their views on the U.S. culture and vice versa. This discussion raises curiosity, enlarges horizons, challenges minds, and facilitates opportunities for employment and entertainment. It also maximizes tolerance.

The book is educative because people will learn words, phrases, and conversational sentences with phonetic structure to communicate and build relationships with the Hispanic people.

The book will concentrate on reaching English-speaking people of all ages.

Today, Americans are finding that not knowing Spanish can be a handicap. Employers are more and more interested in hiring bilingual employees. In addition, the Hispanic population is growing rapidly across the United States. At the moment, one in eight Americans is of Hispanic decent.

This book is certainly a necessary read for the ever-diligent American who wants to keep ahead of the times and prepared for the future of our global community.

Celsa Paloma Rocha is a native of Sonora, Mexico, and became a U.S. Citizen in 1986. Her early background has provided her with an unusual insight into Latin culture and the Spanish language. She has worked in the education field for 11 years, at public schools. She holds a bachelor degree in human service from Judson College in Elgin, Illinois.

Presently, she is an inner-city missionary at the Los Angeles Dream Center and is dedicated to making a difference by finding real solutions to the problems facing our society.
