Stockholmsborsen Statistics Report November 2002


STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Dec. 2, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Stockholmsborsen Statistics:

- The SAX index increased by 12.6% and the OMX index increased by 12.5%.

- The average number of closed transaction per business day increased by 35% compared to the past 12-month period.

Share trading

The average share trading turnover per business day amounted to SEK 10,934 million during November (during the past 12-month period: 11,215). In October 2002 the average share trading turnover per business day amounted to SEK 9,407 million. The average number of closed transactions per business day has been 53,405 during November (during the past 12-month period: 39,548).

The turnover rate during November was 142% (during the past 12-month period: 123%).

Derivative trading

Average derivative trading turnover (Swedish share and interest-rate related contracts) amounted during November to 304,784 contracts (during the past 12-month period 244,567) per business day. The average derivative trading turnover amounted during October to 328,467 per business day. The average number of contracts in share-related derivative products amounted during November to 284,402 contracts (during the past 12-month period 222,254) per business day, while the average number of contracts in interest-rate related derivative products amounted during November to 20,382 contracts (during the past 12-month period 22,313) per business day.

The total value of trade in stock options amounted for November to SEK 63.8 (during the past 12-month 81.4) million per day. The total value of trade in stocks options amounted for October to SEK 56.1 million per day.

Warrants trading

The average warrants trading turnover per business day amounted to SEK 47,030 thousand during November (during the past 12-month period: 29,902). In October 2002, the average warrants trading turnover per business day amounted to SEK 30,978 thousand.

Index developments

The OMX index increased during November by 12.5% and closed on 575.2 (31 October 2002: 511.3). The Benchmark index closed on 193.0 as of 29 November (31 October 2002: 172.0), which is an increase of 12.2%. The SX All-share index (the SAX index) closed on 170.9 (31 October 2002: 151.8), which corresponds to an increase of 12.6% during the month.

The Information Technology Index increased during the month and closed on 105.6 (31 October 2002: 88.8), which is an increase of 18.9%. The Consumer Staples Index decreased during the month and closed on 276.8 (31 October 2002: 280.5), which is a decrease of 1.3 %.

Listed companies

During November, three companies have been delisted from the A-list and transferred to the O-list. Futhermore one new company has been listed on the O-list. The number of listed companies on Stockholmsborsen is 297, of which 63 are listed on the A-list and 234 on the O-list. Total market value for the companies on the A-list amounts to SEK 1,576 billion, and on the O-list to SEK 456 billion. Total market value thereby amounted to SEK 2,032 billion as of November 29, 2002 (31 October 2002: 1,811).
