Smiles, Smudges and Smart Alecks -- New Book Reveals That Adults Must Sometimes Listen to What Kids Are Saying

CAMBRIDGE, Ohio, Dec. 4, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Sometimes adults can really learn more about life just by looking at how kids live their simple lives. Author Sally Eaton Law witnessed this truth when she worked as a kindergarten teacher for thirty-one years. In her delightful collection of short stories called "Smiles, Smudges and Smart Alecks" (now available through 1stBooks Library), Law shares valuable lessons about death, thoughtfulness, love, humor and spirituality through the eyes of her young heroes.

A treasure-trove of life's anecdotes, "Smiles, Smudges and Smart Alecks" features a handful narratives with serious to humorous undertones. "The Inside-Out Pocket" is an illustration of how children can overcome death in the family. It is a moving tale about an eight-year-old boy named Marty who lost his mother. Here, Law explores the intensity of father-son relationship and paints a light drama about their search for a perfect mother and wife. Will it be Rhonda, Sue or June Frazier? Find out how Marty outsmarts his Dad.

Drawing on her actual experiences while teaching, Law also highlights how rambunctious kids discover the value of friendship, unity and family through other well-loved tales.

Sally Eaton Law wears many hats. She is a noted playwright, an actress, producer and director. However, she considers herself a devoted teacher who "taught for fun in getting material across rather than for the money." Law started acting at a tender age of five, and at 18, she already had her own studio where she conducted acting workshops. She has adapted two books into plays and has directed operettas and kindergarten programs. She currently resides in Cambridge, Ohio.
