Telelogic DOORS Named Leading Requirements Management Tool by Yphise

DOORS Achieves 'Stand Out' Performance in Four of Five Evaluation Categories

MALMO, Sweden and IRVINE, Calif. December 06, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Telelogic (Other OTC:TGIAF) (Stockholm: TLOG), the leading global provider of solutions for advanced systems and software development, today announced that Telelogic DOORS, the company's state-of-the-art requirements management tool, was named market leader based on technical merit by influential French industry analyst firm Yphise, Paris, in its latest report "Requirements Management Tools."

The report evaluated the performance of five requirements management tools from different vendors against five key criterion: organizing the requirements of various projects; managing the project scope and priorities; ensuring the accuracy and exhaustiveness of requirements; mastering the requirements changes; and ensuring the requirements fulfillment along the project steps. After an exhaustive evaluation, DOORS delivered exceptional performance in four of the five categories.

"We are pleased to announce that DOORS is above its competitors after successful assessment in our 'Requirements Management Tools' report," said Xavier Benmoussa, analyst at Yphise. "The evaluation determined that DOORS is the market leader and the most mature product with the broadest set of rich features that facilitate the management of requirements". Yphise is the only analyst firm to publish comparative studies based on ISO 9001-certified assessment process.

"Once again DOORS has shown its technical superiority to all other requirements management tools," said Anders Lidbeck, president and CEO at Telelogic. "While we are gratified with the leadership position that DOORS has maintained over the last few years, we are not taking anything for granted. We are continuing to evolve and expand the product's appeal as evidenced by the recent addition of electronic signature capability."

According to the Yphise report, DOORS stands out in four of the five categories for the following reasons:

- Managing the project scope and priorities -- "DOORS helps manage requirements priority levels according to the value of any selected criterion. This is useful when the priority levels associated with each requirement must be used as a criterion for scheduling the development releases."

- Ensuring the accuracy and exhaustiveness of requirements -- "DOORSimports requirements in various formats, including WordPerfect or PostScript formats. It also supports text formatting. These featuresfacilitate the capture of existing requirements and ensure theirlegibility."

- Mastering the requirements changes -- "DOORS ensures the consistencyof the requirements changes through its bi-directional integration intothird-party change management tools. E.g. (Telelogic) CM Synergy(TM),ClearQuest and PVCS Dimensions."

- Ensuring the requirements fulfillment along the project steps"DOORS facilitates the mapping of requirements with the informationsystem infrastructure. It also provides integration richness. Examplesof the tools it integrates into include modeling tools such as AllFusionComponent Modeler and (Telelogic) Tau(R) UML Suite, as well as testmanagement tools such as TestExpert and Tplan."

"Requirements management tools are useful in order to master the quality of software development," said Benmoussa. "They facilitate requirements definition and ensure thoroughness. They help business and IT managers agree on project scope by managing the priorities of the expressed requirements. They make it possible to control the requirements fulfillment."
