Universal Computer Systems Offers Open Database Connectivity

HOUSTON, Dec. 20, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Universal Computer Systems today announced its Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) capability. ODBC is a software tool that enables users to extract data from their UCS Application Server and pull it directly into any ODBC-enabled program, such as Microsoft(r) Word, Excel, Access, and Seagate Crystal Reports.

Through customized queries, data is pulled from a UCS database to accomplish a wide range of tasks, including generating custom reports, spreadsheets, financial analyses, and graphs. With a convenient refresh option, saved data queries can be updated quickly, eliminating the need to re-run these queries.

ODBC can extract data from the Accounting, Sales Prospecting, Vehicle Inventory, Name and Address, Customer and Service History, and Parts applications.

"Our new ODBC driver facilitates a truly open systems environment enabling our clients to easily access and transfer their data into third party applications whenever necessary," states Dan Agan, Executive Vice President.
