ESPOO, Finland, Jan.13, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- TietoEnator (Other OTC:TTNTF) (Stockholm:TIEN) has concluded a contract with Ukio Bankas (Lithuania) on the implementation of a new generation payment cards solution and development of the bank's service system. This software solution will enable the bank to smoothly pass on to new technologies and to start issuing EMV smart cards.
The solution -- Transmaster -- is a software tool developed by TietoEnator Financial Solutions SIA for the complete cycle of payment card processing starting from card issuing to electronic payment operations via internet and mobile communications. More than 35 banks and financial institutions in 10 countries are operating Transmaster system.
"We have decided to purchase this software, because in the future Ukio Bankas is planning to issue and acquire the most reliable and secure smart cards. The system offered by TietoEnator Financial Solutions completely satisfies the needs of the bank," said Lina Balciunaite, Head of Payment Cards Department at Ukio Bankas.
