`A Pox On You' -- New book Focuses on a Chillingly Possible, Fictional Account of a Smallpox Threat

NEWARK, Del., January 14, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- "A Pox On You" (now available through 1stBooks Library) by C.B. Murray is a mystery that contemplates the use of a vicious mutant smallpox virus in bio-warfare. The action centers around an Iraqi multimillionaire who sets up an institute in the United States to produce a vaccine for a mutation of the smallpox virus and enlists the aid of a French undercover organization, the Noir, to detect who else might have the mutant and its vaccine.

Against an international background and multiple murders, three Noir agents work feverishly to locate the virus and its vaccine before they fall into the hands of powerful governments intent on blackmailing the world.

A native Iowan, C.B. Murray graduated with a bachelor's degree in biology from Smith College and a master's degree in genetics from the University of Michigan. Following employment in genetics research at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee, Murray, her husband Richard and two daughters moved to Newark, Del. There Murray programmed and wrote manuals for the Office of Computer-based Education at the University of Delaware and Writers, Inc. In addition, she has published non-fiction articles in the Philadelphia Inquirer and Delaware Today.

In addition to "A Pox on You," Murray has written "The Chinese Treasure," another Noir mystery, and "A Bite of Magic," an adult fairy tale with recipes, all available through www.1stBooks.com.
