Statskontoret Ranks Teleca Highest in Procurement Selection Process

MALMO, Sweden, Jan. 20, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Teleca (Stockholm:TELCb) signed a general agreement with Statskontoret (Swedish Agency for Public Management) today regarding products and services for supplying information to the public sector. Teleca was ranked highest in the evaluation of the six companies chosen as complete suppliers. Statskontoret estimates the total value of the general agreement over a 2-year period to be SEK 300 M.

The agreement applies to all government authorities and offices, most of Sweden's local government authorities and several other areas of public administration. The purpose of the procurement is to make the various authorities' development work easier by meeting their IT-support needs in supplying information, from data capture and registration to dispatch and archiving -- all part of Statskontoret's task to promote 24-hour authorities. The agreement is valid for 2 years, with the possibility of a 12-month extension at the end of this period.

"Statskontoret's confidence in Teleca is an important stamp of approval and proof that we have wide-ranging in-depth expertise in the relevant area," said Johan Nyberg, CEO of Teleca AU-System. "It's especially pleasing to be ranked first because Statskontoret's selection process often serves as a guide to other companies and organisations in their purchasing decisions."

Teleca's comprehensive general agreement covers the following areas:

-- Products for e-forms, scanning, task handling, document handling,
content management, portals, search engines and XML-based information
    structuring.

-- Product-related services in the form of technical support, training
and development, and the design and implementation of
    customer-specific solutions.

-- Advanced consulting services in the form of prestudies, business
    development, strategy, project management, adaptation,
    integration, etc.

Teleca's offering will be supplemented with several products from the following leading suppliers: Digital Diary, Excosoft, Oracle, Readsoft, Sign On and Verity.
