Doris Malone survived a fragmented, faithless, lonely childhood with a determination for a better life, whatever that was, with an insatiable desire to understand Why.
The poems here cover many of those themes with an uplifting goal of seeing victory with the Lord. One could say they are all autobiographical, Malone's life in verse, growing in the Lord's knowledge, mercy, faith, and agape love. They are poems to grow by and challenges to reach for in a daily, closer walk with the Lord.
"Reflective Verses" reminds us that the Lord wants us to Ask. He always answers the Why. The Bible was all that Doris Malone had left to trust in when she was twenty-eight. He opened it to her understanding and filled her soul. The truth set her free and prepared her for eternity. This is His Gift for all humanity: truth. She gives the Lord the glory for the inspiration to write the poems in order and truth.
Two of her poems ("Life's Garden" and "Holy Inspiration") were set to music in December 2000, by Hilltop Records in Hollywood, California. The cassette is In The Beginning. There are fourteen other equally inspiring songs by various writers.
