Australian Pharmaceutical Industries to Implement New Core Application System from Intentia

Intentia's Movex Solution to Provide API with Greater Flexibility and Improved Efficiencies

STOCKHOLM, Sweden and SYDNEY, Australia, Jan. 23, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Intentia International AB (publ.) (Stockholm:INTb) (Other OTC:IAINF), one of the world's most successful suppliers of enterprise collaboration solutions, signed a 500-user contract valued at EUR 3.5 million to implement Movex at Australian Pharmaceutical Industries (API). The contract was signed at the end of 2002.

"We couldn't be more pleased to have signed and be associated with one of Australia's leading companies," said Steve Ironside, managing director of Intentia in Australia and New Zealand. "I think there is a definite cultural affinity between our organizations, in that we are both focused, driven and leaders in our fields, which will make for a long and successful partnership."

API is one of Australia's largest integrated healthcare services companies, with more than 2,500 employees and expected annual revenue for 2002 in excess of EUR 1.3 billion. API's distribution network is among the best in the world. The company will use Intentia's Movex solution as the core application system across the group and its distribution network spanning Australia and New Zealand.

"I think the implementation of a fully functional and robust enterprise system will be a critical enabler for API to further improve its existing operations and to effectively integrate other complementary businesses," said Steve Ironside.

Joel Williams, General Manager, Corporate Development, Systems & Logistics, API said, "We believe implementing Movex will provide a competitive advantage through further improving API's already efficient operational model and by allowing API to develop other services to the benefit of our customers."

With Movex, API is expecting to improve data analysis and decision making support, more quickly adapt to desired process changes, more quickly and easily integrate future acquisitions, improve the management of inventory and debtors and simplify IT support. Movex will be the core application system across the API group. It will cover warehousing, distribution and retail support as well as financial, management and executive reporting.

"Intentia has again proved to be one of the most competitive and viable vendors in the enterprise application market. We have listened to the customer's needs and been able to offer a powerful solution to meet their objectives," said Steve Ironside. "We will be working with API to develop an effective risk management approach to the project and have assigned an extremely experienced team. Our Implex implementation methodology has an outstanding track record for implementing similar projects on time, in full and to budget, a factor I am convinced helped API's decision to partner with Intentia."
